A friendly, interactive, object for a young child to recieve messages from their parent while they are apart.
Objectives:
“Mr Bot” is a effort to create a child friendly messaging tool that will enable the target audence, parents who travel a lot for work, to communicate with their young children in a fun way.
Techniques & Method:
1. Interviews and observations.
2. Quick scenario board to communicate my intended intervention.
3. Creation of the physical form using sketching in 2D and 3D.
4. Creating the initail prototype using a arduino board and bare conductive board.
5. User testing with the traveling parent, focusing on uploading messages for the children.
6. User testing with a target family to guage their response to the uploaded messages.
The test family responded exceedingly well to the product with the younger children exhabiting the most positive response.
